You’re invited to see the transformation of the RecPlex gym

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - The Anderson Township Park District is inviting everyone to come play at the Open House at the Beech Acres Park RecPlex where the new gym floor has been completed.

The gym will be on display Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from  6 - 8 p.m. at 6915 Beechmont Avenue.  Pets (except service animals) are not permitted in the building.  It’s a rare chance to check out the facility, since it is normally reserved by various groups.

The gym was closed late last year during the process of adding a new floor on top of the existing one, when tests indicated mercury vapor coming out of the old floor, a result of the way gym floors were installed decades ago. Though the level was not high enough to violate federal standards, the gym was closed to be on the safe side, and the old floor was completely removed instead of having the new floor installed on top of it.
