Anderson Township man being inducted into Tennis Hall of Fame
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Tennis Hall of Fame will induct its 50th member this year as four Cincinnatians join an elite list of individuals who have helped Cincinnati be recognized as a mecca in the tennis world.
The latest class includes an outstanding coach of junior players, a former tennis team captain at the University of Notre Dame, and two individuals who were both undefeated for one season in college. Together, they hold seven Cincinnati Metropolitan tennis championship titles.
Rusty Schubert of Anderson Township won a Mid-American Conference doubles title while at Ball State University in the early 1980s. Since then, he’s coached Cincinnati’s Junior Davis Cup team to six Midwest titles and coached USTA/Midwest teams to two 16-and-under USTA National titles.
