CINCINNATI (FOX19) – If you are interested in becoming a Cincinnati Police officer in the near future, the time to work on that is between now and June.  Here is the city announcement, which offers guidance to the fairly complicated procedure:

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

The Hamilton County Park District Rangers have a new Ranger Chief. Following the retirement of Chief Steve Newsom, who spent after 32 years with the Rangers, Ed Butler will take over duties as Chief at the end of March.

Butler has been a member of the Kenton County, Kentucky Police Department since 1991 and has served as its Police Chief since 2006.

While at Kenton County he has also served as its Public Relations Officer, Police Officer/Narcotics Detective, Sergeant and Captain.  He holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Northern Kentucky University, a Masters of Business Administration from Xavier University, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.  Ed is a native of western Hamilton County and an Elder High School graduate.

Police suspect same armed robber hit two stores

 

PIERCE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Pierce Township Police are still trying to identify the man in these surveillance photos.   Detectives say that he committed an armed robbery at the Super Sam’s located at 1335 Ohio Pike in Pierce Township on December 26, 2011.  He displayed a black handgun and fled on foot west bound on Ohio Pike.  

He is described as a white male, late 20’s, 5’8” and 150-180 lbs, thin build with dark hair and brown eyes.  He was wearing jeans with rips on the upper right leg area, a hooded greenish Aeropostale hooded sweatshirt with the “Aeropostale” in white and “New York” under it in blue, a dark ball cap with the hood over the hat, and black gym shoes with white around the bottom of the sole area.

BLUE ASH, OH (FOX19) - The Hamilton County OVI Task Force is announcing that an OVI checkpoint will be conducted this Friday, March 23, 2012 in Hamilton County. The exact location and times will be released on Friday.

Suspect  breaks into several vehicles and takes power tools

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to identify a person wanted for a theft that occurred Feb. 12. 

The suspect entered the property of Evans Landscaping located at 4229 Roundbottom Road. in Anderson Township and removed several power tools.

According to the police report, the suspect broke off locks on several vehicles and removed wrenches and Dewalt drill sets.

Suspects caught on video using stolen Kroger gift cards

MOUNT WASHINGTON, OH (FOX19) - Police have released video of theft suspects accused of using stolen Kroger gift cards.

An unknown number of suspects broke into the Sem Food Pantry located at 6446 Beechmont Avenue on Dec. 9.

Police say that the suspects took 100 Kroger gift cards worth $15 dollars each.

Local leaders to warn of tax scams

 

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The IRS, the Hamilton County Coalition to Stop Fraud, Scams and Abuse and other groups will issue a warning Tuesday about tax scams that are flooding email inboxes and possibly reaching people in other ways.

The large number of people involved in the news conference at the Urban League in Avondale may indicate a lot of concern.
