ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) – A locally-based company that sells pet clothing and accessories over the internet was a featured business in the 33rd Annual Sports Emmy Award Swag bags.

Only 30 businesses nationwide were featured in the gift bags to be given out to celebrities and guests at the April 30th event at the Frederick P. Rose Hall at Lincoln Center, New York City, N.Y.  

Pet Passions and Fashions is a web store, owned and operated, by Kim Lautman of Anderson Township. The store features homemade, gourmet dog and cat treats, designer apparel and accessories for the best dressed pet.

Over 800 people in the audience scored the promotional bags.  Pet Passions and Fashions provided $50 gift certificates for every bag, and Lautman is wondering if she’ll be hearing from local winner Cris Collinsworth or his family, or from other celebrities.

City workers can win cash awards for innovative ideas

CINCINNATI (FOX19) – Nine city workers who come up with new ideas are in line for prizes supported by a grant from a local foundation and judged by local business leaders.

Monday the City of Cincinnati, with grant support from the Seasongood Good Government Foundation, launched the 2012 City of Cincinnati Innovation Awards program. The City and Seasongood wish to recognize and encourage City employees whose creativity and tenacity positively impact the Cincinnati community. “The Seasongood Foundation is pleased that this award-winning program is being restarted in a new format,” said David Altman, Executive Secretary of the Murray and Agnes Seasongood Good Government Foundation. “The project will offer another incentive for public employees to innovate and enhance services for our citizens. This effort is at the very heart of the “good government” that the Foundation seeks to stimulate.”

NEWTOWN, OH (FOX19) - To commemorate the 35th anniversary of its founding, Meridian Bioscience Inc. is funding a $5,000 annual scholarship to support a deserving student each year at Cincinnati State.

Meridian CEO Jack Kraeutler announced the scholarship – named in honor of company Executive Chairman and Founder William “Bill” Motto – during a celebration with employees at the company’s Newtown headquarters.

SBA opens assistance center in Moscow

 

MOSCOW, OH (FOX19) - The U.S. Small Business Administration on Tuesday announced the opening of a Disaster Loan Outreach Center at the Moscow River Valley Community Center, 30 Wells Street, Moscow, Ohio.

The center will serve not just Clermont but neighboring counties as well.

People and businesses with uninsured losses and damages caused by the tornadoes, high winds and flooding on March 2 should take advantage of SBA’s disaster assistance program and apply.  Customer Service Representatives at the Center are available for one-on-one assistance and can help with the application process.

The center will only be in town for a few days.
