Pedestrian hit in Anderson Twp

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19)- Emergency crews responded to the scene of a pedestrian hit Thursday evening in Anderson Township.

It happened at the intersection of SR 125 and King Louis Court just after 5:30 p.m.

Police say a Ford F-250 operated by Brian Burger, 39, of Anderson Township, was attempting to make a right turn onto westbound SR 125 from Pinnacle Plaza. The front portion of the truck hit Guy Wentzel, 53, of Anderson Township, who was walking eastbound across the business driveway.

Wentzel was knocked to the ground and suffered serious injuries. He was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center via Air Care. He is in critical condition.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -As a special thank you to its loyal customers and neighbors, Penn Station East Coast Subs is offering a free small order of its famous fresh-cut fries to anyone who dines in participating locations on Wednesday, April 24.

Penn Station's fresh-cut fries are a customer favorite, freshly hand-cut from unpeeled Idaho potatoes, which are then cooked to order in cholesterol-free peanut oil.      

Originally founded in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1985, Penn Station is an upscale, fast-casual restaurant renowned for its legendary Philadelphia Cheesesteak Sub sandwich, served hot and made-to-order on freshly baked French bread. Penn Station serves a variety of hot and cold subs, as well as fresh, hand-cut, made-to-order French fries, hand-squeezed lemonade made several times daily and chocolate chunk cookies baked fresh in the restaurant.

Firefighter suffers minor injury battling Anderson Twp. blaze

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19)- A firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling a blaze early Sunday morning.

It happened around 4 a.m. in the 1400 block of Verdale Drive.

Arriving units found heavy smoke coming from the basement of a home. The roof was ventilated to provide heat and smoke removal and
fire personnel entered the structure and proceeded to the basement to locate the fire and extinguish it.

Everyone made it out safely, but a family cat died in the fire. A firefighter was treated on the scene for a minor injury and returned to duty.

The cause remains under investigation.

Motorcycle accident sends rider to hospital

MT. WASHINGTON, OH(FOX19)- -A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital following an accident in Mt. Washington.

The accident happened on Corbly Road just before 3:45 Sunday afternoon.

The motorcyclist, possibly traveling at a high rate of speed, crashed his bike while trying to avoid a vehicle turning left at an intersection.

Although he missed the vehicle, the rider wiped out suffering injuries.

There has been no word on the extent of the injuries or the name of the rider.

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19)  - Despite the raining conditions outside, photos from the e-waste drive on Friday in Anderson Township show that the event is going strong.

PNC, The Cincinnati Reds and Players For The Planet has joined forces with Cohen Recycling and many of Cincinnati's leading corporations for the 4th annual PNC/Players For The Planet E-Waste Recycling Drives on April 19-21.

Trucks and workers are set up at the PNC Bank, Anderson Town Center Branch on Beechmont Avenue. Reds outfielder Jay Bruce, catcher Ryan Hanigan and broadcaster Marty Brennaman will greet recyclers from 11 a.m. to Noon.

Organizers believe that they are on track to break their record from 2012 of 199,000 pounds.

The drive continues througn the weekend at the following locations:

Saturday, April 20 - 9a.m. - 4p.m.

PNC Bank, Glenway Crossing Branch, 5535 Glenway Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45211
